Randy H. says:     Annissa was great with our 6 month old Shih Tzu. We’ve tried 3 other groomers and were not comfortable with any of them. Maggie seemed to love the shop and her groomer. She came home happy and looking beautiful. There wasn’t a single thing about the experience that we felt questionable about.

Thanks!

It’s important to get the ABC ‘s in Dog grooming right. That’s why our Dog Grooming staff in Leander Texas focuses on these fundamentals.

A – Always be aware of the dog’s energy. The dog can tell you a lot about how it should be handled just by it’s energy.

B – Be calm. The dog can tell if a groomer is “excited or worked up”. Staying calm will make the grooming experience go much better.

C – Care about the animal and the owner. Many times groomers just want the owner to be happy and do things that might not be in the best interest of the dog. At our dog grooming shop in Leander Texas we try to always balance what is best for the dog with the desires of the client.

So there you have it the “ABC Dog Grooming” Lesson!

May 2011 will be The Best Li’l Groom Shop In Texas’s 10th year of business .  While this is a great occasion to celebrate it also comes with a heavy heart.  10 years ago I had know idea I would have to say goodbye to a overwhelming amount of companions. In choosing to be a dog groomer over a veterinarian  I thought for sure I could avoid the hardships of seeing so many pets move on to Rainbow Bridge.

Turns out I have only procrastinated the inevitable.  I have seen most of clients from puppies to senior and then the dreaded phone call….There is nothing that compares to the sympathy/relation I feel to each of the family’s I have come to personally know.  As a animal lover I have been through it all, making the God like decision… Is it time?  to having my old dog lady live to the fullest and pass right at her perfect time and the most unfortunate…The sudden loss.  There is nothing that can replace, comfort, or fill in the hole, it is always there.  They are simply angels that flew to close to the ground.  I am sure you have experienced or are going through it now,  and to you I say I am so sorry,  my heart is sincerely heavy for your loss.  ~Peace be with you

Here at  The Best Li’l Groom Shop In Texas we have many tried and true Natural Remedies we have used over the years, here are just a few you can use at home.

Aloe Vera is a amazing healing plant that can be used on minor cuts, scrapes or abrasions. It is healthy to ingest and works wonders just squeeze the gel out of the leaf,  just like toothpaste.  As with any edible medicine, eating the outside packaging can be toxic in large amounts so keep the darker outside layer away from from your pup

Fiber – In the form of Pumpkin, Sweet Potato and carrots. One of our most popular inquiries is             about  Anal Gland Problems.  In consulting Local Veterinarians and many Homeopathic medical books we have found adding any of these items to your pets food to be successful remedy for Impacted Anal Glands, Diarrhea and Constipation.

The weight of your pet will determine how much pumpkin to give them. A pet which weighs less than fifteen pounds should be given 1-2 teaspoons of pumpkin puree. A 15-35 pound pet should receive 1-2 tablespoons, and a pet 35 pounds and up can be given 2-5 tablespoons of pumpkin puree. If you find your pet’s stool becomes too runny, cut back on the amount of pumpkin.
